Art Out Loud! Penrith

Art Out Loud! program

Expressive therapy for communication, confidence, and connection.

Art Out Loud! is a creative therapy program designed to support individuals with acquired brain injury, stroke, or neurological conditions to improve communication skills, boost confidence, and foster social connection through guided artistic expression.

Facilitated by a qualified counsellor with experience in expressive and creative therapies, sessions provide a safe and engaging space to explore voice, language, and identity through a variety of art-based activities.

In-clinic

This service is exclusively available at Royal Rehab LifeWorks Penrith

Who can benefit

  • Communication challenges: Individuals with communication difficulties following stroke, brain injury, or neurological illness, and NDIS participants with psychosocial disabilities or autism.
  • Alternative to talk therapy: People looking for an alternative or complementary approach to traditional talk therapy.
  • Confidence and expression: Those wanting to build confidence in expressing themselves in a supportive group environment.
  • Creative connection: People who enjoy creative activities and want to connect with others in a meaningful way.

What to expect

Art Out Loud! is not about learning how to draw or paint. We don’t teach art skills or techniques. Instead, we use simple creative activities to help you express yourself, build confidence, and connect with others. It’s about the process—not the final product.

A phone consultation before you start

Before you join the group, a counsellor will give you a call. This is a friendly chat to get to know you, learn about your needs and interests, and make sure the group is a good fit for you.

Express yourself in your own way

You can join in however feels right for you. Whether you use words, writing, drawing, movement, or other ways to communicate, all forms of expression are welcome and supported.

Supportive peer environment

The counsellor running the group will check in with you, help you reflect on how you’re going, and support you to work toward your personal goals.

NDIS Funding

Helping someone see they can achieve more than they thought—that’s what makes it all worthwhile.
