Sexuality Services

Are you experiencing barriers to sexual well-being or facing unique challenges or concerns related to sexuality?

Robert Armitage, our dedicated occupational therapist, provides people living with a physical disability tailored guidance and support to navigate their journey to sexual well-being and intimacy fulfilment.

This new OT service offers a holistic approach to sexual wellbeing. It includes an initial detailed assessment, empowerment through education, and provides strategies and exercises to build skills. Clients can explore assistive technologies and resources to help address concerns and achieve goals for sexual wellbeing. Our services are open to individuals with a physical disability aged 18+. We welcome all genders, sexual orientations, and backgrounds.

What's involved?

Our approach

  • Assessment and evaluation:
Through comprehensive assessment, we identify factors and barriers affecting your sexual wellbeing. We are able to produce reports that can be used to inform NDIS plan reviews, home modifications, equipment and assistive technology purchases.
  • Education and information:
We can provide you with accurate, up-to-date, evidence-based information about sexual well-being.
  • Skill building:
We offer practical strategies and exercises to help you build confidence and overcome challenges in your sexual life.
  • Assistive technology prescription:
If barriers to your sexual well-being can be addressed through assistive technology, we can assist with the prescription process, from assessment to purchase.
  • Resources and referrals:
We can connect you with relevant resources and referrals to other healthcare professionals, support groups, or community organisations when necessary.
