Accessible gym

Our accessible gym memberships are designed specifically for people living in the community with a physical disability.

Experience fitness in a supportive environment where your abilities, goals, and wellbeing are the focus. Whether you’re aiming to build strength, maintain mobility, or enjoy the social benefits of being active, our gym offers tailored programs and a welcoming space that encourages peer connection and independence.

What your gym membership includes:

  • Full access to our accessible gym equipment and facilities.
  • A personalised exercise program designed to suit your needs and goals.
  • A welcoming, social environment with opportunities for peer connection, learning, and support.

Please note: All members are required to have an initial consultation with a physiotherapist before getting started. This session is charged at standard therapy rates.

Who can benefit

Our accessible gym membership is suitable for anyone experiencing movement or functional challenges due to a neurological condition or physical disability, including:

  • Stroke
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Motor neurone disease
  • Guillain-Barré syndrome
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Spina bifida
  • Amputations
  • Other mobility-related conditions

What to expect

Initial assessment & orientation

Your membership begins with a 90-minute session with a therapist to assess your current abilities and introduce you to the gym equipment and facilities.

Tailored exercise program

During a follow-up 60-minute session with a therapist, we will develop a personalised program tailored to your goals and abilities. Please note that this session is billed at standard therapy rates.

Independent access to facilities

Members are welcome to book gym sessions to work through their personalised programs in a supportive and accessible environment. Just remember to book your session in advance.

Additional information
  • Functional electrical stimulation (FES) on the Motomed is not included in standard membership access.
  • If you need support during your sessions, you’re welcome to book time with one of our allied health assistants or bring your own support worker.
