At Royal Rehab LifeWorks, hydrotherapy is delivered in our onsite heated pools at Ryde and Petersham. This specialised therapy combines the warmth, buoyancy, and resistance of water to support rehabilitation, ease joint pressure, improve mobility, and reduce pain. Each session is guided by qualified therapists and tailored to individual goals to promote strength, flexibility, and overall wellbeing.
Our hydrotherapy services are available at:
Ryde and Petersham:
Both locations feature onsite heated pools where our therapists deliver personalised hydrotherapy programs in a safe, supportive environment.
Your Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist will complete a thorough assessment of your condition and needs, to create a personalised plan focusing on:
Hydrotherapy provides the perfect setting to strengthen muscles. Water exercises use the natural resistance of water, and we can adjust the difficulty by changing movement speed or using flotation devices to target specific muscles.
The buoyancy of the water can allow you to practice tasks that might be too difficult out of the water such walking or stepping up.
The water naturally challenges your balance, helping you improve stability in a safe environment. Balance exercises that might feel too risky on land can be performed in the water with greater confidence.
As your limbs move through the water, the resistance builds muscle and boosts cardiovascular fitness. The duration and intensity of sessions can be tailored to meet your needs and abilities.
The warmth of the water helps your muscles relax and eases spasms. It also promotes better blood flow, especially to areas of pain, which speeds up healing and improves flexibility by reducing muscle tightness.
Hydrotherapy offers a relaxing way to exercise. The gentle movements trigger the release of endorphins, helping to reduce pain and leave you feeling more at ease.
For us, care isn’t a service — it’s a relationship built on trust, empathy, and shared goals.
