MYRO is a sensor-based therapy device that supports upper limb rehabilitation through interactive, goal-oriented activities. It helps people improve fine motor skills, coordination, cognitive functions and social interaction by combining real object use with an adaptive touchscreen platform.
MYRO uses a large, sensitive touchscreen that can detect both direct touch and interaction with physical objects. Users perform functional, task-based exercises that mirror real-world activities such as reaching, gripping and moving items. Therapy can focus on fine or gross motor skills, hand–eye coordination, spatial awareness, attention and cognitive planning. Programs are adaptable, automatically adjusting difficulty to match the user’s progress and maximise challenge. MYRO also supports unilateral (one-sided) and bilateral (both sides) training to promote neuroplastic recovery after brain injury, stroke or other neurological conditions.
In the spirit of reconciliation, Royal Rehab acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea, and community. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and future and we extend our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples.
