Let us introduce Shelly, a Senior Occupational Therapist at Royal Rehab LifeWorks with eight years’ experience supporting people across acute hospital, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, community practice, aged care and NDIS settings. Throughout her career, she has worked with people living with neurological, complex medical and physical conditions, helping them overcome challenges that impact mobility, cognition, upper limb function, self-care and participation in everyday activities.
Shelly has a strong interest in neurorehabilitation and is passionate about helping people work towards meaningful goals, maximise their independence and engage in the activities that are important to them. She has experience in assistive technology prescription, including complex wheelchair assessments, home modifications, functional retraining, cognitive rehabilitation and upper limb therapy, developing personalised solutions that support each person’s needs and priorities.
What Shelly enjoys most about her role is finding creative and inclusive ways to make therapy meaningful, while celebrating each person’s strengths and progress. She values collaborating with the wider Royal Rehab LifeWorks team, continuing to build her clinical skills and contribute to a supportive environment focused on achieving positive outcomes for clients.
Outside of work, Shelly enjoys learning to crochet, creating decorative pieces for her home and baking homemade bread whenever she has the time.
In the spirit of reconciliation, Royal Rehab acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea, and community. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and future and we extend our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples.
