Sexuality Services Ryde

Dating after brain injury

The Dating After Brain Injury program is specifically designed to help individuals who have acquired a brain injury or disability enhance their relationship and dating skills.

This program consists of six sessions, providing a supportive environment for participants to share their personal experiences and stories with others. Throughout the program, participants will explore various skills and strategies that are essential for meeting new people and building new relationships successfully.

The program will cover topics such as improving communication in intimate relationships, providing information on safe and enjoyable sexual activities after injury, and facilitating the disclosure of one’s injury in a safe and effective manner to improve relationship outcomes.

The dating after brain injury group is not a social group or a space to meet a potential partner (e.g. speed dating).

What's involved?

Our services are open to individuals aged 16 and above who have experienced illness, injury, or disability. We warmly welcome clients from various sexual backgrounds, identities, communities, and lifestyles. • The program can be delivered individually or in a group setting
  • Both settings are facilitated by a qualified Occupational Therapist and/or Speech Pathologist.
